Dean College Announces the Dr. Paula M. Rooney Student Center

The Dean College Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Dean’s Campus Center will be renamed the Dr. Paula M. Rooney Student Center in honor of Dr. Rooney’s 27-year tenure as the 13th President of Dean College.

“The central point of campus – this building, known as the Campus Center – is the place where students take classes, perform, study, eat, hang out, celebrate at awards ceremonies, are welcomed at Discover Dean Days and where we all line up for the Commencement procession,” said Mark D. Boyce, Chair of the Dean College Board of Trustees. “This building will from today forward be named the Dr. Paula M. Rooney Student Center.”

This special honor recognizes Dr. Rooney and all that she has done as the most student-centered president of Dean College and comes as she is concluding her tenure at Dean. The announcement was revealed during a celebration honoring Dr. Rooney, with friends, family members, alumni, donors and members of the Dean Community in attendance.

As current and future students gather in the Dr. Paula M. Rooney Student Center, their experiences at Dean will forever be marked by the impact Dr. Rooney has made as President.
