For more than a hundred years, the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society has recognized and encouraged academic achievement of students in two-year, associate degree programs.

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), believing strongly in its mission, wants as many students as possible to receive the benefits of a PTK membership, which include scholarships, recognition at graduation, and notation on the Dean College diploma and transcript. By recognizing the academic achievement of college students, PTK provides opportunities for its members to grow as scholars and leaders.

Dean College’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter, Upsilon Zeta, was chartered in 1969, more than 50 years ago. Each spring eligible associate degree students are invited to join this nationally recognized honor society.

PTK designed a rewards program for chapters focused on Recognizing Excellence in Acceptance and Completion with Honors (REACH) - to recognizes those PTK chapters that excel in membership development. Dean is pleased to announce that its Upsilon Zeta chapter has been named a 2021 REACH Chapter.
