Dean College offers generous merit scholarships to help make a private education attainable. The average Dean College merit scholarship is $26,000.


Academic Scholarships

Students are reviewed for the below scholarships as part of the college application process, so there is no need to complete an additional application unless otherwise specified.

Oliver Dean Honors Scholarship

Named for the founder of Dean College, this is our most prestigious academic scholarship. The Oliver Dean Scholarship recognizes outstanding academic accomplishment in high school. Students are considered for this scholarship based on the academic and extracurricular information provided in their application for admission. Oliver Dean Scholarship recipients are invited to participate in the Honor’s program and the National Society of Leadership and Success in their first semester.

Trustee's Scholarship

This scholarship recognizes students who have demonstrated exemplary academic achievement during their high school careers and show great promise for success at Dean College. This scholarship is based on the information provided on the high school transcript and the application for admission.

Presidential Scholarship

Dean believes in the ability of all students to succeed. Dean’s Presidential Scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate academic potential but perhaps did not reach that potential while in high school. Students are considered based on information provided in their application for admission.

Performing Arts Scholarship

The Performing Arts Scholarship recognizes outstanding achievement in either Dance or Theatre. These awards are reserved for candidates applying directly to the Dance or Theatre programs. If a student changes majors during his or her Dean career, the award may be revised to reflect the new academic major.

Dean Transfer Scholarships

In addition to the academic scholarships listed above, transfer students with 45 college-level credits are eligible for an additional $3,000 Transfer Achievement Award.  Students with 60 college-level credits, or an associate’s degree, are eligible for an additional $5,000 Transfer Achievement Scholarship. Members of PTK will be considered for scholarships ranging from $3,500 to $5,500.

Additional Scholarships

Dean College offers many highly specialized scholarship awards in conjunction with other organizations and the local community. These scholarships require an additional application and may have more specific criteria for consideration.

Franklin High School Scholarship  

Each year, a graduate of Franklin High School who has been accepted to Dean College is selected to receive a $39,000 tuition scholarship. Students interested in being considered should contact their guidance counselor to complete a scholarship application.

Tri-County High School Scholarship 

Each year, a graduate of Tri-County High School in Franklin who has been accepted to Dean College is selected to receive a $39,000 tuition scholarship. Students interested in being considered should contact their guidance counselor to complete a scholarship application.

Nancy Forestal Memorial Scholarship 

This $2,500 scholarship is awarded to a graduate of Bellingham High School who has been accepted to Dean College. Interested students should contact their guidance counselor for a scholarship application.

Hockomock Area YMCA Scholarship 

Students who are members or active volunteers in the Hockomock Area YMCA and who are graduates of a high school within the Hockomock service area are eligible for consideration for this $39,000 tuition scholarship for a student accepted to Dean College. Dance Scholarships
