Scholarships
Scholarships can help reduce the cost of a Dean College education and generally do not need to be repaid. Dean offers merit scholarships and specialized awards recognizing academic achievement, talent, involvement and other accomplishments. Students can also explore scholarship opportunities from outside organizations.
Dean College Scholarships
Dean reviews applicants for merit scholarships using the academic achievements, activities and other information included in their application for admission. Students will qualify for one of the following merit scholarships. No separate scholarship application is required.
Awards are generally renewable provided students continue to meet applicable eligibility and satisfactory academic progress requirements.
Oliver Dean Honors Scholarship
Named for the founder of Dean College, this is our most prestigious academic scholarship. The Oliver Dean Scholarship recognizes outstanding academic accomplishment in high school. Students are considered for this scholarship based on the academic and extracurricular information provided in their application for admission. Oliver Dean Scholarship recipients are invited to participate in the Honor’s program and the National Society of Leadership and Success in their first semester.
Trustee Scholarship
This scholarship recognizes students who have demonstrated exemplary academic achievement during their high school careers and show great promise for success at Dean College. This scholarship is based on the information provided on the high school transcript and the application for admission.
Presidential Scholarship
Dean believes in the ability of all students to succeed. Dean’s Presidential Scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate academic potential but perhaps did not reach that potential while in high school. Students are considered based on information provided in their application for admission.
Performing Arts Scholarship
The Performing Arts Scholarship recognizes outstanding achievement in either Dance or Theatre. These awards are reserved for candidates applying directly to the Dance or Theatre programs. If a student changes majors during his or her Dean career, the award may be revised to reflect the new academic major.
Transfer Scholarships
In addition to the academic scholarships listed above, transfer students with 30 college-level credits and a GPA of 2.0 or higher are eligible for an additional $2,000 Dean Difference Award. Students with 60 college-level credits, or an associate’s degree, and a GPA of 2.0 or higher are eligible for an additional $4,000 Transfer Achievement Scholarship.
