Transfer students from Massachusetts community colleges have an advantage: the General Education Foundation. This is set of general education, core, or distribution requirements consisting of 34 college-level courses.

All General Education Foundation courses will be accepted for full transfer credit towards the core curriculum at Dean. Once on campus, bachelor's degree-candidates must complete 9 upper division credits to complete the College’s core requirements.

In addition, students who complete the 34-credit General Education Foundation with a grade point average of 2.0 or higher will qualify for a $7,000 per semester merit scholarship—on top of any need-based financial aid they may receive.

Completing the General Education Foundation does not guarantee admission to Dean and certain academic majors may require the completion of additional Dean College courses.
