    Book Purchase and Rental Services

Aside from purchasing Dean clothing and gear, Dean students may also rent and buy books through the bookstore. To avoid standing in long lines at the beginning of each semester, students are urged to select their books online before arriving on campus. You may do so by visiting www.deancollegeshop.com, selecting the Books tab at the top of the page, and searching for your books by entering your course information from your class schedule.

Why should you consider renting your books instead of buying them? So far, students have saved over $400 million with Rent-A-Text, the largest in-store and online rental program in the country. You could save money and also reap the following benefits by renting this semester:

    • Guaranteed the right books for your class
    • Free in-store pick-up
    • Multiple forms of payment, including financial aid (in-store only, not available online)
    • Use the book like you normally would - highlight content and take notes where you see fit

    Dean College Library

The Dean College Library is located in the Green Family Library Learning Commons, which opened on September 8, 2008 after an extensive renovation. The library has a collection of more than 32,000 books, 105 periodical subscriptions, and hundreds of videos, DVDs, and compact discs. Disability Support ServicesComputers are available for students to type papers, conduct research on the Internet, or search over 40 research databases.

The library is a member of the Minuteman Library Network, a consortium of 43 public and academic libraries in eastern Massachusetts. The consortium maintains an online catalog of all items owned by the member libraries. Dean students are able to request and borrow materials from any other Minuteman library, including the nearby Franklin Public Library. For hard-to-find items, the inter-library loan department can request materials from libraries across the country.
