Fall 2026 Move-In and Student Check-In
We look forward to welcoming new and returning students to Dean College! Review your arrival date, complete the required steps and learn what to expect when you arrive on campus.
Additional details, including assigned arrival times and driving instructions, will be shared after housing assignments are released.
Fall 2026 arrival dates

Students should arrive during their assigned check-in time. The complete move-in schedule will be shared by mid-August by email.
Before you arrive
Complete these steps before coming to campus:
- Complete your housing application through eRezLife.
- Review and complete your Enrollment Checklist.
- Submit all required information to Admissions, Student Financial Planning and Health Services.
- Review the Move-In Checklist for what to bring and what to leave at home.
- Connect with your roommate, if applicable.
- Review your housing assignment and assigned arrival instructions when they become available.
New and transfer residents who complete the housing application will receive their housing assignments by early August.
New and transfer resident check-in
When you arrive on campus:
- Go to the Dr. Paula M. Rooney Student Center to check in and collect your welcome materials, room key and student ID.
- Follow the driving directions and campus signage to your residence hall.
- Park temporarily in the designated unloading zone. Residence Life staff and Campus Police and Safety will help direct you.
- Unload your vehicle. Members of the Move-In Crew will be available to assist new students.
- Move your vehicle promptly to the designated parking lot.
- Settle into your room and begin making Dean feel like home.
Returning resident check-in
When you arrive on campus:
- Go to the Dr. Paula M. Rooney Student Center to check in and collect your welcome materials and room key.
- Follow campus signage and staff directions to your designated unloading zone.
- Unload your vehicle and move it promptly to the designated parking lot.
- Settle into your room and get ready for the new semester.
Commuter student check-in
Commuter students should check in at the Dr. Paula M. Rooney Student Center and collect their welcome materials.

New commuter students should also check in for Bulldog Beginnings at the Guidrey Center at 5 p.m. on Friday, August 28.
Parking and unloading
Please arrive during your assigned check-in time and follow all campus signage and staff directions.
- Use designated loading zones only while unloading.
- Move your vehicle to the assigned parking area immediately after unloading.
- Orange moving bins will be available to help transport belongings.
- Review the Campus Map before arriving.
- Be considerate of other families by unloading as efficiently as possible.
- After entering your room, check for existing damage and report any concerns to your Resident Director.
After you move in
Once you are settled:
- Introduce yourself to your Resident Assistant and neighbors.
- Attend your mandatory residence hall meeting.
- Locate your residence hall’s emergency exits.
- Complete your roommate agreement in eRezLife. Your Resident Assistant can help you begin the process.
- Connect your devices to the campus Wi-Fi.
- Review the policies, emergency information and other materials available under the Resources tab in eRezLife.
Bulldog Beginnings
Bulldog Beginnings will take place Friday, August 28 through Monday, August 31. This program helps new students become familiar with Dean, meet classmates and prepare for the start of the semester.
Additional program details will be shared by Student Activities and Leadership Development (SALD).
Help make move-in more sustainable
A few simple choices can help reduce move-in waste:
- Bring reusable items whenever possible.
- Break down and dispose of boxes in designated areas.
- Place all trash in the appropriate collection areas.
- Use the water-filling stations located in residence hall lounges.
Do not leave boxes or trash in hallways, lounges or near emergency exits. Improperly discarded materials may result in charges to the residential community.
