As I continue establishing the Advancement and Alumni Relations department, I am thrilled to introduce two exemplary additions to my team, Joanne Coluccio and Liz Sevy. These accomplished women bring a breadth of experience to their roles and are eager to engage with our loyal alumni and donors.  Please join me in welcoming them to the Dean community.

Q: What are your primary responsibilities at Dean?

As Director of Alumni & Family Engagement, I am working to keep the Bulldog spirit thriving long after Commencement. By designing and executing events that build on beloved traditions, providing meaningful updates, and energizing volunteer circles, I want every graduate and family member to stay intellectually inspired, emotionally connected, and proud to invest in Dean’s future. I am working to open doors for alumni, and strengthen Dean’s legacy with every handshake, story, and gift made.

Q: Where did you grow up and what college did you attend?

I grew up on Long Island, NY and attended Marist College (now called Marist University).

Q: What do you love about Dean?

I love the connectedness that comes with being a member of the Dean Community. For example, a single conversation at the Bulldog Beanery could spark an internship. An introduction to an alum during Commencement weekend might open a first career door. And it's a place where today’s students can’t wait to return as tomorrow’s mentors. I am excited to be a part of helping to weave those relationship loops together.

Q: What are some "fun facts" about you?

If we met on the street, I’d probably remember your pet’s name before remembering yours. I’m a fan of true crime; I enjoy gardening and cooking (completely unrelated to the aforementioned true crime fandom…); and live with my 16-year-old chihuahua mix, Honey.

Q: What’s a personal motto or quote that you try to live by?

“Progress, not perfection” is a reminder for me that forward motion, however small, propels us toward sustainable growth.

Q: What do you love about Dean?

I love how active and supportive the campus community is—everyone’s ready to help, and there’s a genuine sense of connection and pride in being part of Dean.

Q: What do you enjoy doing while you're not at work?

I love spending time with my two kiddos, gardening, hiking, and collecting vinyl records.

Q: What’s a personal motto or quote that you try to live by?

Stay curious, stay kind.
