Dean College is pleased to welcome Nery Gomez to its Board of Trustees, a dedicated group of leaders who help guide the College’s strategic direction and uphold its commitment to student success.

Gomez is the founder, president, and chief operating officer of BlackSun Private Equity, Inc., headquartered in New York, NY. He is also the founder, chief executive officer, and managing director of California’s Manhattan Beach Advisors, LLC and Elevation Consulting Group, as well as Illumination Holdings, LLC, of Austin, TX. As a published author and speaker, he is known for empowering individuals to make smart financial decisions and build fulfilling lives, values that closely align with Dean’s mission to educate and inspire tomorrow’s leaders.

His appointment comes at an exciting time for the College. With more than a dozen new academic programs recently launched, Dean is expanding its offerings to better prepare students for meaningful careers in a rapidly changing world. Gomez’s insight and leadership will help ensure that students continue to benefit from an education that is both practical and purpose-driven.

Originally from Massachusetts, Gomez earned his undergraduate degree from Tufts University, where he studied psychology and economics. He is currently completing Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program and will graduate in November 2025.
