      Where can commuters park?


      Commuters can park in the first parking lot when entering the Campus Center. All overflow parking will take place in Jones Lot (adjacent to Grant Field). There are signs at the entrance of both parking lots noting the Orange color which indicates that it is a Commuter Lot.

      Do I need a parking pass?


      Yes, you can acquire a parking pass (the decal for commuters is Orange) at the Department of Campus Safety (Dean Hall) for a fee of $100. The pass will be valid for one academic year (September- May). The parking decal must be adhered to the driver’s rear side window. There is very limited street parking in the Town of Franklin and all commuters are strongly encouraged to purchase a parking pass.

      Are commuters able to stay overnight on campus?


      Commuters may stay overnight as long as they are a signed in guest of a resident student. Resident students are allotted four 24-hour stays each month excluding the first week of school and exam weeks. Students must register at the Department of Campus Safety and must remain with the host (Dean resident student) at all times.

      What meal plans are available for commuters?


      There are four meal plans available for commuter students. The word ‘Meals’ equals one swipe with your Dean College student I.D. at the Smith Dining Center located in the Campus Center. Boomers Bucks can be used at the Smith Dining Center, Boomer’s (Campus Center Atrium), Jazzman’s (Green Family Library Learning Commons) or Dominoes (off campus). Please visit the Director of Dining Services to discuss meal plan options or add Boomer’s Bucks throughout the semester.

      Is there a commuter lounge?


      Yes, the commuter lounge is located in the Keller Room (Campus Center Atrium) which contains work spaces, couches, a television, a Keurig, microwave, and listing of upcoming Dean events. All commuter students will be given card access to the commuter lounge at the start of the academic year. The lounge is accessible from 8am- 4pm Monday thru Friday. Additional information regarding the contract be obtained by contacting the Student Activities Coordinator in the Campus Center Atrium.

      How do I know if the college is closed due to weather?


      When appropriate a decision will be made by 6am and posted to the student portal (Today@Dean), Dean College website (www.dean.edu) and Dean College weather line 508- 541- 1901.  The college makes every attempt to hold classes when possible. As safety is a top priority and weather conditions can vary greatly depending on your location, it is imperative that you determine whether you can get to campus safely.

      Are there any Commuter based organizations?


      Yes, commuters are encouraged to join the Commuter Student Association (CSA)! Commuters, remember to check your emails and twitter for updates and meeting times.

      Is there anywhere to store your belongings?


      Yes, there are lockers located in the Commuter Lounge (Keller Room). The lockers are first come first serve and students must provide their own lock.

      Do I have a student mail box?


      Mailboxes for commuter students are provided upon request. Visit the mailroom (Campus Center Atrium) by October 15 (Fall semester students) and February 15 (Spring Semester students) to receive your assigned mail box and key.
