#iamdean features weekly Q&A with current students, alumni, faculty and staff.

Alex Boyle ’16 is a Theatre major from Hingham, MA. Read on to learn more about Alex!

Q: Why did you choose to attend Dean College?

A: I chose to attend Dean because I love the small, tight-knit community and because of the individualized attention I receive from professors that I would not get at larger college/university.

Q: How do you spend your free time while at Dean?

A: When I am not working, I am usually relaxing with my friends, rehearsing, reading, cleaning (it is one of my favorite stress relievers!), or looking forward to going to an upcoming dance!

Q: What do you like best about Dean?

A: I love the community aspect. Everyone can pretty much attach names with faces here and that is something I find a lot of comfort and security in. Specifically, I love my program because they have given me a sense of how important art is.

Q: What are your plans after Dean?

A: I want to work as a performer on a professional level. I love the idea of working on a cruise ship because it is a great way to do what I love to do AND to see the world (which is a major bucket list item for me).

Q: What advice do you have for incoming students?

A: Understand the importance of a good work ethic and when you think you've done enough, keep going and do more. That is something I learned from my theatre professors as a whole. I realized that having the tools is part of it, certainly, but you need to know how to use them and that comes from a hunger of wanting to work and always wanting MORE.
