Fall Check In Common Inquiries
What should I do to prepare for move-in day?
- Complete your Housing Application on eRezLife. All new and transfer residents who completed the housing application will receive housing assignments by August.
- Get to know your roommate[s]!
- Make sure you complete your Enrollment Checklist, submit health paperwork (new students only), and complete all necessary financial paperwork.
- Check the schedule above and plan accordingly to arrive during your assigned move-in window.
- Refer to our Move In Checklist for every essential you need to pack and suggestions on what to bring, and what to leave at home!
- Consider a stress-free move in with our partners.
What will arrival on campus look like for new and transfer residents?
- Step 1: : Visit The Paula M. Rooney Student Center to complete your Check-In Process where you will collect your welcome information, room key and ID card.
- Step 2: Follow the driving directions provided by Residence Life to locate your new home for the Spring!
- Step 3: Park in the designated loading zone, Residence Life staff and Campus Police and Safety will be available to guide you.
- Step 4: Unload your car. New Students: Move-In Crew will be available to assist with your move-in!
- Step 5: We ask you to unload your car in a timely manner and move to a designated lot for parking.
- Step 6: Start decorating and settling into your new space!
What will arrival on campus look like for returning residents?
- Step 1: Please remember to bring your ID and room key with you. Upon arrival, check in with your RA or a Residence Life staff member in your building. Please swipe your ID card on the exterior ID card scanner of your assigned residence hall.
- Step 2: Park in the designated loading zone, Residence Life staff and Campus Police and Safety will be available to guide you.
- Step 3: Unload your car. We ask you to unload your car in a timely manner and move to a designated lot for parking.
- Step 4: Catch up with friends, and settle in for the new semester!
Where should I park and unload?
- Please arrive for check in during your scheduled move in time. The move in schedule will be released after early August.
- Follow campus signage and staff directions for parking and unloading zones. See our campus map for more information.
- Use designated zones only for unloading; move your vehicle to a parking lot afterwards designated by Campus Police and Safety or Residence Life staff.

- Utilize available orange bins to transport your belongings.
- Be mindful of others and try to move efficiently.
- Check your room for any pre-existing damages and report them to your Resident Director.
What if I have a question?
- Look for your Resident Assistants and Resident Directors for any questions you may have throughout the day - they can’t wait to see you!
What will happen after move-in?
- Meet your Resident Assistant (RA) and introduce yourself to your neighbors.
- Familiarize yourself with emergency exits and procedures in your residence hall - attend your mandatory hall meeting for a full review of this information.
- Complete your Roommate Agreement, available on eRezLife. Ask your RA to initiate your agreement!
How can I make the move-in process more sustainable?
- Dispose of trash and boxes in designated areas. Trash left near emergency exits, lounges, and hallways may result in billing charges for the community.
- Consider bringing reusable items to reduce waste!
- Water stations are available in every lounge.
What other information should I know about move-in?
- Set up your internet connection and ensure your devices are functioning properly.
- For roommate agreements, emergency preparedness information, campus policies, Residence Life contact information, WiFi instructions, and more refer to the resources tab on eRezLife.
What will happen after move-in and Bulldog Beginnings?
- Take some time to relax and explore the campus.
- Get to know your new environment and start forming connections with fellow students.
I'm a commuter student-what will my check-in process look like?
- All Returning Commuters: Please check in on the first day of classes, September 1, at the Check In tables located on the Student Center Concourse.
- Parking: Pick up your parking permit with Campus Police and Safety, located in the lower level of Dean Hall on your first day of classes.
