The Arch Learning Community is designed to help students with documented learning disabilities get the very most out of their college years. The program consists includes core courses taught by instructors within the Arch Learning Community that are designed to give students the skills that they need to take notes, plan course schedules, and more. In addition, students get to attend a special three-day orientation prior to the start of your first semester, as well as access to everything that the Learning Center has to offer, including Success and Career Advisors. Plus, students enrolled in this program receive academic coaching every single week during their first semester. This coaching is one-on-one, to ensure that they received the help and guidance that they need. Support continues throughout students’ time at Dean as they progress through the program.

The Arch Learning Community is a part of the Morton Family Learning Center, as is the Office of Accessibility. In addition to those two important offices, the Morton Family Learning Center also has both professional and peer tutors on staff, and offers quiet study spaces for students.

Other services offered by the Morton Family Learning Center include the Strive4Success and Academic Coaching programs, both of which are designed to help students. The Strive4Success program lasts for one year to help students transition to college and includes mentoring, academic coaching, and even study skills labs. The academic coaching program specializes in individualized academic support, for students who need help honing their study skills, note-taking skills or writing skills, among other things.
