Fall Check In Common Inquiries
What should I do to prepare for move-in day?
Complete your Housing Application via Dean eRezlife. To Log In: Use your Dean email and password. For full instructions please visit your Dean email. All residence hall, room, and roommate assignments will be released early August!
- Get to know your roommate[s]!
- Make sure you complete your Enrollment Checklist, submit health paperwork (new students only), and complete all necessary financial paperwork.
- Check the schedule above and plan accordingly to arrive during your assigned move-in window.
- Refer to our Move In Checklist for every essential you need to pack and suggestions on what to bring, and what to leave at home!
- Consider a stress-free move in with our partners.
- Returning Residents:
- Visit eRezlife to view your selected room and roommate assignment from your Spring Housing Selection Process.
- Parking Permits: If you have been approved - you will pick up your permit when you arrive on campus. For all parking inquiries, contact parking@dean.edu.
What will arrival on campus look like?
- Step 1: Visit the Student Center and complete your Check-In Process where you will collect your welcome information, room key and ID card. Returning Residents: Please remember to bring your ID with you. We will update your access accordingly. If you lost your ID, contact Campus Police and Safety before you arrive and they will print you a new one [with your existing photo] - free of charge! If you request a new ID on move in day, charges may apply.
- Step 2: Follow the driving directions provided by Residence Life to locate your new home for the Fall!
- Step 3: Park in the designated loading zone, Residence Life staff and Campus Police and Safety will be available to guide you.
- Step 4: Unload your car. New Students: Move-In Crew will be available to assist with your move-in!
- Step 5: We ask you to unload your car in a timely manner and move to a designated lot for parking.
- Step 6: Start decorating and settling into your new space!
Where should I park and unload?
- Please arrive during your designated time slot to avoid congestion.
- Follow campus signage and staff directions for parking and unloading zones. See our campus map for more information.
- Use designated zones only for unloading; move your vehicle to a parking lot afterwards designated by Campus Police and Safety or Residence Life staff. Then spend time decorating your new room!
- Returning Residents: If you have applied and been approved for a parking permit, please pick up your permit during the Check-In Process in the Student Center.

- Utilize available orange bins to transport your belongings.
- Be mindful of others and try to move efficiently.
- Check your room for any pre-existing damages and report them to your Resident Director.
What if I have a question?
- Look for your Resident Assistants and Resident Directors for any questions you may have throughout the day - they can’t wait to see you!
What will happen after move-in?
- Meet your Resident Assistant (RA) and introduce yourself to your neighbors.
- Familiarize yourself with emergency exits and procedures in your residence hall - attend your mandatory hall meeting for a full review of this information.
- Complete your Roommate Agreement [a copy will already be in your rooms!].
- New / Incoming Students (Residents and Commuters): Attend Bulldog Beginnings! For more information click here.
- All new students, residents and commuters, are expected to attend Bulldog Beginnings. Students will receive additional information about the schedule for Bulldog Beginnings program in their Dean College email.
- Returning Students: Attend any mandatory meetings, say hi to your friends, and come stop by and say hi to us!
How can I make the move-in process more sustainable?
- Dispose of trash and boxes in designated areas. Trash left near emergency exits, lounges, and hallways may result in billing charges for the community.
- Consider bringing reusable items to reduce waste!
- Water stations are available in every lounge.
What other information should I know about move-in?
- Set up your internet connection and ensure your devices are functioning properly.
- For roommate agreements, emergency preparedness information, campus policies, Residence Life contact information, WiFi instructions, and more refer to the RED folder that will be in your room upon arrival.
- Update your contact information with Residence Life and other relevant offices - Visit MyHousing to update your Personal Information under the tab “Personal Information”.
What will happen after move-in and Bulldog Beginnings?
- Take some time to relax and explore the campus.
- Get to know your new environment and start forming connections with fellow students.
