Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education

If you enjoy working with young children, an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education at Dean College will prepare you for a rewarding career in teaching or child care.

Our curriculum offers a strong foundation in subjects such as children’s literature, child psychology and educational principles. In small classes, you’ll work closely with faculty members who hold certification from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.

You’ll also find plenty of opportunities to apply what you’ve learned in the Children’s Center, Dean’s on-campus preschool. In collaboration with faculty and Center staff, you’ll plan and teach lessons and meet with parents to discuss their children’s development.

When you graduate, you’ll have a wealth of career options. Some Dean graduates seek certification and begin careers in child care. Others transfer successfully to four-year programs in education studies.
